Chi Kung:
In this breakaway session, the participant will gain knowledge of Chi breathing (the universal breath). Chi breathing is used to control the mind, body and spirit which help you to focus through meditation to gain self control and health benefits.
"Qi or "Chi" means energy. In Yoga, it is called "Prana". "Gong" or "Kung" means work. Therefore, Qigong means the exercise of your internal energy. It is a 5,000 year old Chinese healthcare modality that has both endured the test of time and is making a tremendous resurgence at the threshold of the 21st Century, The benefits of Qigong are increasingly recognized for enhancing fitness in mind and body, developing vitality for sports, and helping in the cure of stress as well as degenerative and chronic diseases.Literally millions practice Qigong in China and around the world each day to successfully treat diseases ranging from hypertension to cancer.
Many Chi Kung practitioners may use many forms (there are thousands of forms) to produce what is needed for specific concerns. Some postures and forms may position you for the meditation or/and health purposes.
Stand up movement meditation forms are for kidney, spleen, liver, lungs, etc. Sit down positions and movements are mainly for focusing, meditation, relaxation etc. (a clear mind)
In Essence as we get older we all need to maintain our health. Chi Kung is beneficial to old and young alike. We can go without food and water for a few days but the breath we cannot.
